Ackergill Tower Wedding photography – a Scottish Castle…

Ackergill Tower Wedding Photography.

Sometimes when shooting a wedding you get doubly lucky – a beautiful venue and amazing weather. Sadly being a wedding photographer in Scotland the weather is never going to be  reliable but with experience you learn ways to work with it.

The stars aligned recently for my trip to photograph Deanne and Gordon’s celebrations in Wick. After driving up through the Highlands on one of Scotland’s most beautiful roads (from Inverness to Wick – right up at the top) I arrived in Wick to lovely bright winter sunshine  – absolutely perfect light for shooting. Deanne and Gordon had already had their actual wedding over in Australia – where I guess you get some heat from the sun – so we were meeting at the stunning Ackergill Tower  – a lovely old Castle, a few miles out of Wick which is now a 5 star Hotel. We spent a little time shooting some images in and around the Castle. (Mostly in as although bright it was still very cold outside) before heading into Wick itself to The Norseman  Hotel. We met up with Gordon’s Family at The Norseman for some family photographs before dinner. Then another move – up to the assembly Rooms for the party.  This is just a quick taste of some of the lovely images from their day.Wedding photography in the highlandsPhotograph of Bride during wedding at Ackergill towerAckergill Tower wedding PhotographyHighland wedding photography
