Two things fascinate me - photography and people - so what could be better than a job that combines the two?
I've been documenting what goes on around me both personally and professionally for 20 years now and find it more exciting every year. What could be more exciting than real life?
Since the day i left school I've lived and worked in the north east of Scotland . I live by the sea with my lovely wife and our 2 young kids with a studio/gallery 3 miles from our front door.
Specialising in Documentary Wedding and Portrait Photography with a bit of Fine Art,Landscape and Commercial work in the mix as well.
My personal work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. I also have images with several national Photo Libraries and along with 3 of my peers I run a documentary photography workshop in Brighton every year.
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” Elliot Erwitt
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”Aaron Siskind
“Look, I'm not an intellectual - I just take pictures.”Helmut Newton

Hamish Robb - Love your work Iain, came across your site randomly. I wish you would put up more weddings as your stuff is ten times more interesting than the current trends I see in wedding photography. Tempted to call you Jeff Ascough of the north.June 14, 2011 – 1:00 am
